An attractive framed cartonnage panel, Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, from a mummy mask. Nicely decorated in blue, yellow and red over a crème ground. Three registers are bordered by intricate geometric and floral motifs. The upper register contains a central 'Djed' column of Osiris flanked by winged cobras, the central with 8 erect uraei (cobras) in a row, and the lower with four deities standing holding staves. 7" x 5" (17.7 x 12.7 cm). A very decorative piece and in a handsome cherry wood frame under glass. Ex Orange County private collection.
