Original leaf from Guglielmus Paraldus' treatise "Summa De Viciis" printed in 1479 by Heinrich Quentrell at Cologne, Germany.
A fine example of German Incunabula printing from the prolific Quentell family and the first city where printing continued after the sack of Mainz, where Gutenburg had introduced the art less than 25 years earlier. The work is a treatise "On Vices", the many deficiencies of the human character. It is considerable hand-painted rubrication, and "pointing" at the start of each sentence.
