Tiffany & Co. Makers Mahogany Bracket Clock. Brass dial has a 6.75 in. silvered chapter ring with black incised Arabic hour numbers, black hands, applied filigree corner pieces and winged putti on either side of the silvered Silent & Chime subdial; signed Tiffany & Co. Makers. Quality brass spring driven movement, Brocot escapement, quarter hour strike mechanism striking a progressive Westminster chime on 5 coiled gongs, movement also signed Tiffany & Co. Makers, Patented November 7th, 1882 and numbered 714, original pendulum with matching numbers. Mahogany case with arched top, bronze finials, leaf decorated bronze door with beveled glass, fluted side columns and scrolled feet. In good condition and with original finish. With key. Untested. Measures 16"x9 1/2"x20". Weight approximately 32 Pds. Dr. Wilson was appointed to the South Carolina Governor's Mansion Commission by Governors James B. Edwards, Richard W. Riley, Carol Campbell, David M. Beasley, James Hodges, and Mark Sanford. He was awarded the Order of the Palmetto by the Governors for his exemplary service on the Commission He was a member of the Charleston Club, the South Carolina Society, the St. Andrew's Society, the St. Cecilia Society, the Agricultural Society and the Carolina Yacht Club. He was a member of St. Michael's church.
