Title: Large FM Konstglas Sweden Crystal Eagle c 1983Size: 10 ½” (26.7 cm) tall x 4 ¼” (10.8 cm) wide x 4 ¼” (10.8 cm) deep.Description: A handmade art glass eagle that was crafted by the FM Art Crystal Studio of Ronneby Sweden. The sculpture is very imposing on the elevated pedestal. The large heavy, hand blown glass figure of an eagle with gray texturing inside a sheath of clear glass. The figure has been attached to a wooden pedestal with sides of black and pale brown wood. The base of the pedestal as green felt. There is a paper label on the base edge of the glass eagle. It is a silver foil paper label. It has the words FM ART CRYSTAL GENUINE HANDMADE RONNEBY SWEDEN LINE STUDIO. The company only operated under this name between 1983 and 1989 and so this piece dates from this period. MEASUREMENTS 10 ½” (26.7 cm) tall x 4 ¼” (10.8 cm) wide x 4 ¼” (10.8 cm) deep. Figure itself is 7 1/4" (18.4 cm) tall. Weighs 3 lb 6.3 oz (1520 g) CONDITION Other than couple of small scratches on the head, the glass is in excellent condition with no breaks, chips, or cracks. There is a glue stain on the wood near the base of the eagle, as well as on the glass itself on the wing and base on the back. Glue around the base is visible and has yellowed. The black paint on the wood pedestal shows wear, especially along the edges and corners. The wood itself shows some wear and discoloration from time and handling. There is wear to the green felt. The silver paper label has a little notch missing. A work of the glass artist that is amazingly detailed and rich.
