Item Details

Description

Supremely rare commercial kitchen peg rack from the Late 19th-Early 20th Century, made by legendary Philadelphia confectionary machine company Thomas Mills & Bro., with nameplate across top bar. Sturdy solid wood - likely oak - with (25) rows of parallel metal spindles on either side, the base mounted on casters. A multifunctional fixture in the modern home, with applications as a cooling rack for sheets of baked goods, Tie rack, a drying rack for pasta or flat art, or as hanging storage for closet smalls. Dimensions: H 67.5" x W 22.75" x D 15.75" Condition: Spindles with oxidation and sticky residue to metal; each protected by a removable sleeve of modern PVC tubing. Wood varnished, with rich antique patina including some surface dings and scratches.

All the items in this auction remain at our Annex Gallery location in Bridgeport, CT for pickup. Items must be picked up in the time frame of Wednesday, June 30th - Friday, July 9th, 9am-5pm, WEEKDAYS.
