Stanislaw Czajkowski was a Polish painter, brother of the painter Jozef Czajkowski.
Stanislaw Jan Maurycy Czajkowski was born on March 9, 1868 in Warsaw, in the family of Wojciech and Adela nee Ziembinski. He began studying painting with Wojciech Gerson. In the years 1896-1903 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow with Jacek Malczewski, Jozef Mehoffer and Leon Wyczolkowski. In 1898 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Ludwig von Herterich. In the years 1904-1906 he studied at the Academie Julian in Paris. After returning to Krakow, he continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts with Jan Stanislawski. In 1908 he became a member of the Society of Polish Artists - Sztuka.
The years of World War I (1914-1917) was spent in the Netherlands studying the works of the masters of the seventeenth century.
In 1926 he settled permanently in Warsaw. In the years 1927-1928 he led the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw course landscape. In 1950 he was appointed professor of painting and drawing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
In his work, Czajkowski dealt mainly with the landscape and rural themes. His early works are influenced by the painting of Jan Stanislawski.
The brothers Jozef and Stanislaw Czajkowski were buried at the Powazki Cemetery in Warsaw.
