Description
For your consideration is a Chinese early Republic Period (1912-1949) cloisonne rooster vessel with archaic decoration. The vessel has beautiful and rich patination to compliment to masterful cloisonne enamel work. The rooster's tail portion can be removed to gain access to the vessel cavity and the figure measures 16 1/2" in height, is 14" wide and 5" in depth. The vessel weighs 9 pounds, 3 ounces.
Provenance: From a private collection of a retired Army Colonel in San Antonio, Texas.
