Catalog Note:
Zoran Antonio Mušic was a Slovenian painter and graphic artist. In 1944, Mušic was arrested by the Gestapo in Venice and placed in the concentration camp in Dachau. While there, he created over 200 drawings documenting his life. He was able to preserve around 100 of these works after the liberation of the camp in April 1945. It was these drawings that served as the inspiration for his most acclaimed series, Nous ne sommes pas les derniers (We Are Not the Last). This painting belongs to that series.

Frame: 27 1/2"h x 34 1/2"w x 1 3/4"d
Free sheet cornered. Vellum attached to drawing verso. Original hinges have torn away tearing vellum in same area. Unusual lifting/separating textures on surface of paper in lower-left quadrant are possibly inherent. Overall good condition.
