Albert Jacques Franck (Ontario, 1899-1973), Lane, East 19th St, Toronto, Oil on Board, signed lower right with 'Roberts Gallery Toronto' and artists label on verso, depicting a snowy street scene, matted and framed. Frame size: 18 in. x 16 in.Prominent Canadian painter and printmaker Albert Franck was largely self-taught. Born in Holland before emigrating to Toronto, he used Realism and worked in in oil, watercolor, gouache, ink, linotype and monotype, depicting Toronto neighborhoods and homes, as well as landscapes and still lifes. His work can be found in the collections of the Art Gallery of Ontario (Toronto), Carleton University Art Gallery (Ottawa), the University of Western Ontario, and at Loyola College (Montreal), among others.
