Description
Signed Sister Corita Kent “ROAD SIGNS” (two parts). 1968. SIGNED ORIGINAL SET. As seen in the Oakland Museum of California. Signed poster on right has a green background with black text and images. With pencil dates in bottom margin indicating 68-69-68. At the top is an image of a road with a sign that says "Entrance Only." Below the image is "Hope is being able to go in any direction - to know it is the right direction." The lower right corner has "Not I nor anyone else can travel that road" printed in large black lettering. Under is small text printed in black. Sister Mary Corita Kent was a social justice artist and a Sister of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. She ran the Art Department at Immaculate Heart College until 1968 when she left the Order and moved to Boston. poster work on paper. Paper Screen Print is 23” x 11.75”. Left side is yellow poster, unsigned (as standard), with pencil dates in margin indicating 68-69-67. Only the right side is signed on these as expected.
