Fine Egyptian Bronze Figure of Isis Breast Feeding The Infant Horus, ca. 26th Dynasty. Isis, the protectress, typifies the maternal virtues of the female. Horus was the son of Isis and Osiris wearing his hair in the lock of youth. The goddess is seated with her right hand on her left breast, her feet resting on a small angled footstool, wearing a tripartite wig, cobra headdress surmounted by horned solar disk.
Wonderful detail and lovely glossy brown and dark green patina. Excellent condition, free from repair missing only the tip of her right horn.
