First Statistical atlas of the US, by Franeis Walker, Washington D.C. Published in 1874, from Statistical Atlas of the United States based on results of the ninth census of 1870 with contributions from many eminent men of science and several departments of the government. An important pioneering first work showing analytical mapping in the United States. Walker was the superintendent of the ninth census and professor of political economy and history at Sheffield science school at Yale college. Condition. Overall good condition. Some tape marks on upper portions.
