Bernardin de Saint-Pierre was an 18th-century French author known for this childrens literature, nature and botany treatises, and philosophy dialogues. Though, perhaps his Etudes of Nature is one of his best and most important works. This book describes plant-life, flowers, botanical sciences, and leaves and fruits. It should be noted that this set of works contains numerous full-page and folding engravings illustrating parts of the plant. Other works included in this set include Arcadia and Paul et Virginie, his most famous novel.
