British School untitled portrait, early 19th century, oil on canvas bust length painting of a Naval officer with an Admiralty badge, apparently unsigned, framed. Provenance: From the Private Collection of Helen Spitler, Cumming, Georgia. Board approx. h. 25", w. 20.75"; Overall h. 31.25", w. 27.25".

Condition

Canvas has been laid down to panel, multiple blisters, edges rubbed by frame with losses, possible overpaint near chin, hazy green varnish visible under ultraviolet light, chips to frame.
