Paul Stankard is considered a living master in the art of the paperweight. He is known for encasing extremely delicate sculptures of flowers and insects in globes or cubes of clear glass. He has been the recipient of numerous awards and has been a Fellow at the Corning Museum of Glass, New York, and an Artist-in-Resident and Honorary Professor at Salem Community College, New Jersey. Stankard's work is represented in more than sixty museums around the world, including: the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Musee des Arts Decoratif, Palais du Louvre, Paris, France; Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art, Sapporo, Japan, among many others.
