Description
Cast bronze dedication plaque from Wabash Railroad steam locomotive #534 that was displayed along side the locomotive during its' time in Swinney Park in Fort Wayne, Indiana from 1957 to 1984. This locomotive survives today in the care of the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society. The plaque measures 25 1/8" x 15" and was presented to the city by the Tri-State Railroad Community Committee. Though the locomotive was Wabash originally, the other railroads that served the area are listed at the bottom of the plate including Baltimore and Ohio, New York Central, Erie, Pennsylvania, Nickel Plate, and Wabash. The plaque has been repainted on the front with black and gold paint. The reverse shows age and weathering.
