John North (American/Illinois, 20th c.) "Cheerleader" Whirligig, painted wood and metal, on stand. Size: 21'' x 31'' x 7'' (53 x 79 x 18 cm). Height on stand: 23'' (58 cm). Exhibited at "Wind In Your Hair" show at theAmerican Visionary Art Museum, Baltimore, 1996-97. Provenance: Ex. Sherry Pardee Collection. Literature: See Self-taught, Outsider and Folk Art by Betty-Carol Sellen (2000).
