Deeply connected to his Bavarian homeland, he captured the scenery and landscapes of the Tyrolean border, Switzerland and northern Italy. In addition to views of mountains, Feldhutter delighted in creating lakescapes depicting the Konigssee or Chiemsee. He regularly exhibited his works in the Munich Kunstverein and in major exhibitions throughout Germany.
