Description
Group of 4 regular strike low relief silver Peace Dollars. All coins were struck at the Philadelphia Mint. 3 minted 1922 and 1 minted 1923. All coins have surface wear consistent with age and exposure. All coins are in circulated condition. Total weight of all coins 3.44 ozt. All coins measure approx. 1.5 inches diameter. The Peace Dollar is a true American symbol of peace. Fascinated by the Statue of Liberty, designer Anthony De Franciscis obverse presents Lady Liberty wearing a crown of rays, like that on the Statue of Liberty. The reverse features an eagle holding the olive branches of peace, rather than the typical olive branches and arrows of war. Americas Peace Dollar was the nations the last circulating silver dollar struck in highly pure 90% fine silver and came to be as a direct result of the Pittman Act in 1918. Govmint.com.
