The "Extra de Varius" rocking chair is an evolution of the coveted "Varius" chair, the most renowned Tusquets chair, the best-selling and the one that has best withstood the passage of time. It can be said to have improved over the years, and is now one of the new design classics to be enjoyed by generations to come. This rocking variant brings comfort to the Varius: a simple change in the legs turns it into a lightweight seat that can either rock or stand still.
Óscar Tusquets is an architect, painter and designer, trained at the Escuela de La Lonja in Barcelona and the ETSAB. In 1964 he founded Studio PER together with Lluís Clotet, with whom he collaborated regularly until 1984. During this period he participated in the extension of the Faculty of Medicine in Barcelona (1980) and in the remodelling of the Palau de la Música Catalana (1982). In 1987 he teamed up with the architect Carlos Díaz, with whom he carried out projects in various countries, including Japan and Germany. He has been awarded the FAD's Delta de Oro prize on several occasions, and in 1987 he received the Sant Jordi Cross.
