George Albert Thompson.Connecticut,1868-1938
Impressionist depiction of a fleet of ships cutting through shallow waves during the early morning hours. Thompson studied under John La Farge and in Giverny, France. He received a B.F.A. from Yale School of Fine Arts, eventually teaching at the school for ten years. Thompson was Director of the Norwich Art School from 1910 to 1912, and was President of the Paint & Clay Club.
