Cai Wenzhi born in Huanggang County, Hubei Province (Xinzhou District, Wuhan City). Graduated from the ninth period of the Whampoa Military Academy and the thirteenth period of the Army University. Lieutenant General of the National Revolutionary Army.

LOT NOTES/ ARTIST BIO:
Cai Zhenyuan 蔡震渊 (1897 - 1960), given name Xi 銑, Zhenyuan and Zhenyuan. Because of the jade cicada inkstone in the family collection, the owner of the jade cicada inkstone is not signed, and his studio is named Yuchan inkstone studio. Suzhou people. Zhenyuan studied at the age of seven, and loved painting at the age of twelve. He often sketched objects from life, painting and dyeing bamboo and stone with great interest. He studied medicine (ophthalmology) from his father at the age of 15, learned feathers, flowers, melons, fruits and animals from the painter Wang Yunqi at the age of 19, learned landscapes from Li Zuishi, and learned ladies from Chen Jingsheng. At first, to make a living, he practiced medicine in Jingde Road, and his name was Mingyuan. Later, because he felt the work was monotonous, he still devoted most of his time to painting. In the end, he was appreciated by Yan Wenliang, the principal of Suzhou Academy of Fine Arts, so he applied to teach in the school. At the same time, he worked concurrently as a Chinese painting teacher in Suzhou Middle School, Suzhou Women's Vocational Middle School, Zhenhua Girls' Primary School and other schools, and was the first Chinese painting teacher in Suzhou Secondary School. At the beginning of the Anti-Japanese War, he lived in Shanghai for three years and made a living selling paintings. Returned to the Soviet Union in 1941, still practicing medicine and painting.

Over all in EXCELLENT Condition. Natural imperfection on the medium (paper or silk), regardless from any major damages; includes light blooms, discoloration and minor fading. Consider normal due to the ages. Frame with normal anomalies in nature, sign of stressed surface, minor scratch & dents. Surface traced wear and or declined to gilding. Normal, consider ages and wear.
