**First Time At Auction**
Native American, Western Great Lakes Region, Wisconsin and Southern Canada, Old Copper Complex Culture, Late Archaic Period, ca. 3000 BCE. A fine pair of copper spearheads. The smaller has a petaloid form with a short tang for attaching. The larger spearhead has a long blade with rounded fins above a socketing shaft shaped from lateral peripheries folded inward. The Old Copper Culture refers to ancient inhabitants of the Great Lakes region. Mined copper was a highly prized material that was also used for jewelry as a status symbol. Size (smaller): 3.375" L x .875" W (8.6 cm x 2.2 cm); (larger): 4.62" L x .875" W (11.7 cm x 2.2 cm)

Larger arrow tip reattached with visible hairline fissure. Nicks and chips to peripheries of both and surface pitting. Rich patina!
