Greater Nicoya or Atlantic Watershed, Period IV Ca. 300-500 AD. Colorful terracotta vessel of somewhat corseted shape, flared base. Overall decorated with polychrome painted feather serpent design on either side; in tan, red and orange. Some wear to painted surface on reverse. Size approx 7 inches H. Provenance: Ex collection of Stanley L. Kaufman and Sigrun Rampoldt, avid collectors of Pre-Columbian art throughout the 60s and early 70s who lived on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. #15588
