Ancient Egyptian Blue Faience Ushabti 3rd Intermediate Period, 21th - 25th Dynasty, 1070 - 712 B.C. Size 4 1/8 inches high. Turquoise blue glazed faience ushabti with painted black details. The hieroglyphics painted on front of pillar-like body identify him as a representative of Amon, with relief hands holding painted implements, semicircular eyes with brows, band around head, and a large seed bag on his back. Some general fading or over firing to the black painted details, otherwise intact. Provenance Ex. Collection of Fred Knox, UK. Purchased from a Grand Tour era estate, late 19th century.
