DESCRIPTION: Two antique tapestries composed of silk, gilt thread, and wool, each from the Ming dynasty or early Qing dynasty: one depicting scholars and courtiers examining a long scroll, one depicting scholars and courtiers surrounding a scholar painting on a scroll atop a table mounted on a crane form base. Underside of some fabrics are reinforced with paper bearing Japanese script suggesting Japanese restoration and/or framing.
