Description
Anonymous quarter-plate tintype displayed in a thermoplastic wall frame, ca. 1870s. An exceptionally clear portrait of an Osage couple, both in typical Osage garb -- he with front-seam beaded leggings. Both wear loom-woven beaded chokers, ribbon-decorated clothing and adornments, and make extensive use of German silver armbands and ear bobs. An exceptional portrait.
