Grade: Fine to Very Fine - When the 1827 Capped Bust Half Dollar was being struck at the Philadelphia Mint, John Quincy Adams was President and the U.S. Population was just over 10,000,000, the mintage for this coin was just over a 5,000,000, just enough for half of it's population at this time to have one. This coin has the variety of the squared base 2 and has a lettered edge which says FIFTY CENTS OR HALF A DOLLAR. This capped bust dollar is struck with 89.24% silver and 10.76% Copper.
