Incredible Grand Army Republican Union Admiral apron worn by Andrew Hall Foote, Who was appointed Rear Admiral June 1862 and served during the Civil War as an outstanding River fighter. Apron appears to be in beautiful condition, also includes a medal ribbon from 1904, an original photo taken in 1890 in California and a copy photo in likeness of Admiral Foote. Great unusual piece out of the former Dan Hardesty Museum. Display measures approx 24 in x 36 in. Andrew Hull Foote was an American naval officer who was noted for his service in the American Civil War and also for his contributions to several naval reforms in the years prior to the war. When the war came, he was appointed to command of the Western Gunboat Flotilla, predecessor of the Mississippi River Squadron.
