Two Scissor-Cut Silhouette Miniature Portraits of Children, 19th Century. The smaller depicting a girl in profile holding a bird; the larger depicting two young children in profile on an ink wash ground. Each in a maple ogee frame with giltwood liner.
Dimensions: Sight of each 4 x 2 6/8in and 4 1/4 x 5 1/2in; Frames 7 1/8 x 6 1/8in and 8 1/8 x 9 1/2in.
This lot comes from an Upper West Side, New York City collection that will be featured in a short lecture by noted specialist of portrait miniatures, Elle Shushan. Condition
Not examined out of the frames. Each silhouette appears to be in generally good condition overall. The frames with typical wear, marks, small losses and surface scratches throughout.
