Description
MONTBLANC fountain pen, 2002.
All in 18 Kts. rose gold with enamelled cherry blossoms. Model Sakura, Limited Edition from the series "Montblanc Asia Editions", issue 52/88.

Dimensions: 11.5 cm.
The Montblanc Sakura fountain pen symbolises beauty and transience as well as the beginning of spring. The limitation of this piece is due to the lucky number in Asian culture, the number 8 symbolises prosperity, luck and fertility. The beginning of spring brings the resurgence of colours, scents and warmth. Nature graces itself and humans with new life. In Japan it is the time of the cherry blossom; a majestic feast for the senses enveloped in the soft scent of the white and pink flower, which is the national emblem of the land of the rising sun. The Sakura pen is retractable and made of 18-karat gold. The cap and barrel are hand-enamelled with Japanese cherry blossom designs. The nib is made of 18-karat gold and is engraved with the sakura symbol. The point of the fountain pen is a half "M".
The Montblanc company was founded in 1908 in Hamburg (Germany) under the name of simple filler pen co. The brand was founded by: Alfred Nehemiah, Max koch, August Eberstein and Claus Johannes Voss. The Montblanc brand has symbolised the art of writing and the taste for refinement for more than a century. Inspired by the snow-capped summit of Europe's highest mountain, the Montblanc white star is recognised the world over as a symbol of traditional craftsmanship, refined over generations, and of high-quality materials, design and aesthetics that stand the test of time. The legendary white star symbolises, above all, something very special and exclusive, which the Montblanc masters instil with their passion and skill in every work: a soul. The Montblanc masters create products with an extraordinary aura, which at the same time represent values that are no longer so common in our busy everyday lives. Values such as constancy, tradition, reliability and taking time for what is really important in life: thinking and feeling, beauty and culture.
