The abandonment of their clothing is an allegory of their selfless devotion to him. Traditional art of Odisha, northeast India. W34cm(13.5 in.) x H 31cm(12.3 in., Provenance: Property of Bruce Elliot Tapper Ph.D., a social anthropologist, journalist, writer, and editor. He was an editor at the Smithsonian Associates Program in the early 1980s and then had a career as an editor at the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian's National Museum of Asian Art, the American Occupational Therapy Association, and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
