This model of mustard pot was designed by Jean-Baptiste-Claude Odiot as part of the service commissioned in 1819 by Countess Alexandra Branitskaya (Russian/Polish, 1754-1838). An example from the original service is in the collection of the Rijksmusuem, Amsterdam (illustrated Jean-Marie Pincon and Olivier Gaube du Gers, Odiot l'Orfevre, p. 63, fig. 83.
