Description
Peter Max (American, b. Germany 1937). "Disney Mickey Mouse 2010 Ver. 1 #5" mixed media with acrylic on paper, 2010. Signed at lower right. An impressive homage to Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse by Peter Max. "Disney Mickey Mouse" is a mixed media composition with hand-painted acrylic throughout that is also hand-signed by the artist. Delineated in Max's signature bold style with painterly brushstrokes and vibrant color juxtapositions, this piece presents the head of the loveable Mickey Mouse at the center of the composition, posed with left hand on hip and right hand extended in a friendly gesture. Painterly passages in shades of royal blue, hot pink, purple, red, yellow, and periwinkle complement the iconic mouse. This central image is outlined with a painted blue border, and surrounded by a graduated pink to violet background which is further embellished by expressive painterly gestures in a rainbow of hues with the artist's signature at the lower right. Size: 11" L x 8.5" W (27.9 cm x 21.6 cm)
