Description
East Asia, China, late Qing Dynasty to Republic Period, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A fine pendant, carved from white nephrite jade, depicting a phoenix as it battles a dragon clutched within its claws. The 2 mythological creatures are finely rendered into the wondrous stone and are suspended beneath a turquoise-hued bead. Size: 0.41" L x 1.01" W x 2.00" H (1 cm x 2.6 cm x 5.1 cm); 30" H (76.2 cm) on included custom stand.
