Navajo Yei Figures floating through the ether, Rare image, may be a Monotype; signed in pencil lower right with his hand blind stamp on thick wove paper, measures 23.5" x 15.5" nicely framed behind glass in a 35.5" x 26.5" frame Commissioned to create the signature painting for the grand opening of the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, Recipient of the New Mexico Governor’s Excellence in the Arts award and the Native Treasures Living Treasure Award by the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture, Abeyta’s work lives in the collections of the Heard Museum of Art, the Millicent Rogers Museum, the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture, and Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian.
