Item Details
Description
A cased pair of French breech-loading percussion pistols, circa 1850Octagonal, slightly swamped barrels with fine hair rifling in 12.5 mm calibre. The bores slightly rough and in need of cleaning, the tops inscribed "Invention Lefaucheux Brevete A Paris". The back-action percussion locks lightly engraved with tendrils, set triggers (one defective). Beautifully grained half stocks with ebony butt caps and en suite engraved iron furniture, the levers to release the barrels are located under the forearms. Length of each 38 cm.Complete with the case lined in turquoise velvet, an adhesive label from "M.J. Chaumont, Armorier De Rois De Pays-Bas" in the lid, containing a wide range of accessories such as a bullet mould, casting ladle, various tools, cleaning rod etc. Dimensions 43 x 30 x 9 cm.Condition: II -
