Description
Fine Japanese Bronze Censer by Hasegawa Harusada, Meiji Period. Of oval section, the reticulated cover cast with foliate surrounding, the body cast with a bank of mythical castle leaping over and emerging from pine trees, with the sides set with opposing elephant-mask handles suspending loose rings, all supported on a pedestal foot cast with elephant feet lappets. Made by Hasegawa Harusada (1800-1883).
