Description
1921 Antique Conover Cable Co Baby Grand Piano. Model #77 and serial #291914. It is made of Mahogany and is in working order. Conover pianos have been a steadfast pillar of the American piano manufacturing industry since 1880, and became Cable's top-of-the-line piano brand as they merged into Conover Cable in 1890. Conover Cable pianos of this time period were expertly hand-crafted in Chicago. At 5 foot 8 inches, this mid-sized grand is balanced between the registers and puts out a vivid woody, soulful warm sound with a wide breadth of tone. The touch of the keys is wonderful, allowing for accurate and highly expressive playing. Real ivory keys give this instrument an excellent sense of grip. The action is in the middle ground between heavy and light with a wonderful bounciness that greatly assists in travelling up and down the keyboard. The top has some fading from the sun. but overall, for a 100-year-old Piano it is in excellent shape! It's a spectacular show piece for a lonely corner of your house. Own a piece of history, because after 100 years these beauties are harder and harder to come by. It measures 39 inches x 57 inches x 68 inches. The legs can be removed for shipping. This piano was acquired from a Richmond, VA musical venue where it was used often. There are seceral services that specialize in moving pianos., 39IN x 57IN x 68IN, LOT REF #23-516
