ABOUT THE ARTIST: Kogan-Shatz Matviy Borisovich – was born on 6th of November, 1911 in Mogilev-Podilsky city. Ukrainian Soviet painter. Worked in the genre of landscape painting. He studied at the Odessa Art Institute, Kyiv Art Institute. Mentors: Volokidin P., Fraerman T. and Shovkunenko A. Since 1939 he participated in national and exhibitions in Italy, France, Japan. Since 1947 – a member of the Union of Artists. The artist's works are exhibited in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, Poltava, Mykolaiv, Berdyansk art museums, Alupka Palace Museum. The artist died in 1989.
