DESCRIPTION: Includes (1) Falcon Kachina by Kachada Bakabi Wintereagle. With removable mask. With COA. When he was 7 he started spending his summers with Chief Joe Seccakuku a Hopi of the Snake Clan. He was taught how to make Kachina dolls. He is the owner of many copyrights and U.S. Patent Pending for the Removeable/Unmasked Kachina Doll. He uses cottonwood root, sugar pine, bulsa, bass, and aspin wood. (2) Black Ogil Kachina. Ogil Kachina is marked Ron M. Largo on bottom. (3) Owl Kachina. Owl marked Lim on bottom. Kachina dolls are representations of the Katsina spirits. The carved figures are given as ceremonial gifts to young girls by Katsinam. Each gift represents a prayer wish for good health, growth, and fertility. Carvers fashion simpler dolls from several pieces fit together with tiny wooden peg. Each doll is painted and decorated to accurately depict important features of a specific Katsina. MEASUREMENTS: 4-3/4" to 6-3/4" wide x 19-1/4" to 21-3/4" high.
