Description
An ancient Olmec mask from Pre Columbian America made of dark green jade. This is a mans face with big eyes and full lips. There are through holes in the earlobes, and there are blind holes on the side of the face in the forehead area. Such round holes were very characteristic of the Olmec civilization. Through holes in the earlobes could be used for hanging earrings and other jewelry. Comes with a black heavy stand. The Olmecs flourished during Mesoamericas formative period, dating roughly from as early as 1500 BCE to about 400 BCE.
