DESCRIPTION: Carved wood crest mask by a craftsman of the Ejagham / Ekoi tribe fashioned as a grinning head on a long neck fitted with three curls of hair - two on the sides, one on top - and painted in black and earthy tones. These "masks" are typically attached to basketry caps worn atop the head by tribesmen during various events and rituals.

CONDITION: Minor insect holes on right cheek, right eyebrow, and hair curls; two hair curl has received professional repair minor paint loss; pegs for securing hair are missing, require replacement
