Description
Casque lourd US de la 29eme Division d Infanterie avec impact. Casque M1, fermeture du jonc a l avant. Numero de lot "191" (correspondant a une fabrication de mai 1942), fabrication Schlueter. Jonc partiellement desolidarise de la coque par le choc de l impact sur la partie arriere. Fissures d usures au dos de la coque. Pontets fixes. Jugulaires presentes. Impacts penetrant au sommet et a l arriere de la coque. Nombreuses bosses visibles. Peinture a 70%. Insignes de la 29eme DI US frontal a 50%. La partie grise de l insigne est majoritairement absente. A noter une certaine usure et patine de la piece. Debarquee a Omaha Beach, les hommes de la 29eme DI mirent trois jours a liberer les 90 hommes du Colonel Rudder encerclee a la Pointe du Hoc. Ils libererent Isigny, puis Saint-Lo et retiree du front le 18 septembre 1944 pour que les troupes puissent se reposer apres les tres rudes combats qu elles avaient menees. La 29eme DI participa ensuite activement a la compagne d Allemagne. Etat II+. US 29th Infantry Division heavy helmet with impact. M1 helmet, front snap fastener. Batch number ‘191’ (corresponding to manufacture in May 1942), Schlueter manufacture. Snap ring partially detached from shell by impact to rear. Wear cracks on the back of the hull. Fixed bridges. Chinstraps present. Impacts penetrating the top and rear of the hull. Numerous dents visible. 70% paintwork. Insignia of the 29th US ID on the front 50%. The grey part of the insignia is mostly missing. Some wear and patina. Landing at Omaha Beach, the men of the 29th ID took three days to free Colonel Rudder s 90 men encircled at Pointe du Hoc. They liberated Isigny, then Saint-Lo and withdrew from the front on 18 September 1944 so that the troops could rest after the very hard fighting they had been through. The 29th ID then took an active part in the German campaign. Condition II+.
