Description: Various posture and arm studies of men with a long polearm. Possibly studies for a battle painting with infantrymen against attacking cavalry or for a Crucifixion with Stephaton. Perhaps in connection with studies for the painting of the throne room of the German Embassy in the Palazzo Caffarelli in Rome from 1894.
