Description
This is a two-sided cast iron COACH STOP sign from the Pittsburgh, PA, Department of Public Safety. We have never seen another, and could not even find an example of another on the internet.The Pittsburgh DPS began way back in 1794, but was considered a group of salaried professionals back in 1857. This sign would have like noted the location of a trolley stop in the early 1900s, and thus, the warning about parking within 20 feet, either with a horse, car, truck, or other mode of transportation!
