Description
A Pennsylvania Cherry Traveling Lap Desk, Early 19th Century. The hinged top enclosing an interior with a central mirrored prospect door, enclosing a small drawer, flanked by a small drawer with tiger maple fronts and two valanced pigeon holes to either side, above an inset green baize writing slope, with a single full width side drawer below.
Dimensions: Height 12 1/4in; width 21 1/2in; depth closed 14 1/4in; depth open 23 1/2in.
Provenance: Property from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix Jr., East Windsor, New Jersey.
Condition
General marks, wear, abrasions and surface scratches. Wear and toning to the brass hardware. The mirror with a crack to the glass, slight warping to the door. The green baize lining is later replaced. With key.
