Devillier escaped Russia whilst the Red Army were in power and lived in Paris between 1920-21. It is around this time that she is believed to have been gifted the pochoir by Goncharova who actively worked with Ballet Russes in Paris. Devillier eventually relocated to London where she remained there for the next three decades.
