Offered here for your consideration is a group of Native American books and a 1901 photo by Dr. Fredrick Monsen. There are seven books covering aspects of material culture including prehistoric and contemporary pottery. The cherry on top is a photo by the celebrated Dr. Frederick Monsen dated to 1901. Dr. Monsen was a member of the Pasadena Eight, a group dedicated to preserving California history and compiling a record of the Indian tribes of the Southwest. This photo is an image of a Hopi woman at work decorating a large pot as she leans back against an adobe wall.
