Description
Offered here for your consideration is a rare dimpled pottery prehistoric rattle. This rattle is rare, one of a very rare small group of discovered artifacts. (see Vol 51 Issue 1 of the Pacific Coast Archaeological Society published 2015 for discussion of another example). The base clay rattle bears two oval red painted areas and within those areas are dimples of raised clay. There is, indeed, something within the body of the piece that rattles. Ceremonial? Maybe. To amuse a child? Maybe. Very, very rare? Yes. This rattle would be a fascinating attraction in your collection and this may well be your only opportunity to acquire one. Bid now!
